Janice, I just got a fall about Jack’s passing. I cannot begin to tell you what he meant to me and SCHS. Because of Jack’s generous contributions to the SCHS Foundation many students have been able to further their education and become productive citizens in our community. Janice, God will walk with you through this difficullt time. I am praying for you as you work through your grief.
He was the man with the Johnny Cash voice and the twinkle in his eye. We saw him at cemetery conventions- dashing through the aisles in his green President’s jacket, always looking to do business with the little guy because he himself started off with so little. We saw him at his cemeteries and funeral homes- taking us for tours in his black suv as he pointed out not just what he had done, but what he planned to do next. I remember thinking “this man clearly does not know how old he is.” He confirmed this by showing me a video of him bungee jumping in Asia. His love of life was matched by his love of lives. He would do anything for family and friends- and he did so often and with great effect. He will be sorely missed.
